Ethan Sales is a Jewish artist and graduate from Bucknell University with a degree in Studio Art. His work centers around his personal experience with mental health stuggles, but also touches on American politics, social justice, drug usage, and the tobacco industry. Using printmaking techniques and applying them to sculpture, photography, and various other mediums, Ethan is able to use his main medium as a basepoint for delving into other practices. This creates a cohesive body of work which is texturally differentiated by all the different mediums exhibited. Inspired equally by contemporary artist Matthew Barney’s relentless experimentation and the expansive worlds and stories presented in Bethesda Softworks video games, Ethan opts to keep an open mind and always explore how one project he is working on can meld into the next or something simultaneous.

Since graduating from school in January 2022, Ethan has resided in northeastern Massachusetts, where he assists printmakers Don Gorvett and Robert E. Townsend with printing various intaglio and relief editions. In addition to this, he has been employed with Cape Ann's premier fine art framer, the Hershey Frame Shop. More recently, he has been learning Unity Engine and various Adobe programs to implement assets and animate characters in a video game being created by fellow Bucknell Alum Eli Mauskopf. The game in question is a 2D skateboarding platformer, and has just finished the early stages of development. Ethan enjoys working with other passionate creators and seeks to collaborate whenever he has enough time to do so.
